The Government Can Create 13000 Vacant Posts Over Night For 10323 Teachers Why Have They Not Done Anything For Us

The C Times, 3rd June 2017, Agartala: A press meet was held today at 12 P.M at the Agartala Press Club by All Tripura School Computer Teacher Shikshak Sangh (ATSCTSS) to press for the demand of 700 unemployed school Computer Faculties eligibility for the recently announced 13000 vacant posts by the state Govt. According to Sri Pranab Debnath, President of ATSCTSS these 700 school Computer Faculties who worked under ICT@ school project (5 yrs contract) during the period 2008-2013 and 2010-2015 are equally eligible for the recently declared 13000 vacant posts.

A total of 700 Computer Faculties were recruited in 350 Govt. schools partly in 2008 and 2010. They were given a remuneration of 2500 rupees instead of 10000 which was actually granted for them by the central Govt.(as mentioned in MHRD wedsite) since their recruitment was done by a third party vendor as the state govt. outsourced this project.

In 2012 the members of All Tripura Computer Faculties Association have been on an 11-day hunger strike to press for their demands regarding increment of wages and other vital issues. The Then School Education Principal Secretary Sri Banamali Sinha on behalf of State Govt.  promised to fulfil their demands but nothing changed since then except a nominal increase in their honorarium.

Adding insult to the injury the state Govt. with the support of few Computer Faculties created a new association (the then president Sri Debasish ) at Melarmath to defame and weaken the former one. The members of the later association were given various facilities by the state govt.

Now according to Sri Pranab Debnath if the Govt. can create 13000 vacant posts overnight for 10323 teachers (who lost their job due to supreme court’s verdict) why have they not done anything for these 700 unemployed teachers?

He has demanded state govt’s immediate intervention on this issue. As part of their movement, the members of the association are going to a mass stay in a strike on 8th June at city centre, Agartala.
