Mass Demonstration and PM’s effigy Burnt By Forward Block

The C Times, 5th June 2017, Agartala:  A mass demonstration and PM Narendra Modiji’s effigy was burnt by the Forward Block party members in front of Agartala Post Office to raise their voice against the Home Ministry’s  Right To Information (RTI) Act reply on Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s death.

The RTI query was filed by Sayak Sen, convener of Open Platform for Netaji, under the RTI Act to the Home Ministry about the whereabouts of Netaji post August 18, 1945.

Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose died in a plane crash in Taiwan in 1945, the Centre has concluded. “After considering the reports of Shahnawaz Committee, Justice G D Khosla Commission and Justice Mukherjee Commission of Inquiry, the Government has come to the conclusion that Netaji has died in plane crash in 1945,’’ the Union home ministry said in response to the query under the Right To Information Act. The Home Ministry also clarified that its declaration in an RTI reply that Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose had died in a plane crash in 1945, was based on a decision of the erstwhile UPA regime in 2006 to reject the findings of the Justice “Mukherjee Commission” in this regard.

The forward block party has demanded the immediate repudiation of the home ministry’s statement and acceptance of “Mukherjee Commission’s” findings on Netaji’s death and an apology from the PM to the nation.

Now as the centre has said it reply that the reports of Shahnawaz Committee, Justice G D Khosla Commission and Justice Mukherjee Commission were considered before coming to the conclusion, why the forward block party is only worried about the Mukherjee Commission?—-This has sparked a controversy in the political Fraternity of Tripura…
