Auto Drivers Humanitarian Act fails to save life of 65 year Old Lady

The C Times, 10th June 2017, Agartala: In a tragic incident a 65 year old lady died after accidentally falling from an Auto.

According to a report the deceased Smt. Pushpa Rani Shil (65) w/o Late Krishna Shil, resident of Kalichowmuni, surjyamaninagar under Amtali PS was on her way from surjyamaninagar to IGM hospital for a doctor’s visit. She was travelling by an Auto (bearing no. TR-01E-4411).

While passing through Badharghat the auto suddenly applied brakes to avoid a mishap and the lady accidentally fell from the auto. She started bleeding profusely. The auto driver Sri KamaleshDey immediately rushed her to Hapania hospital from where she was referred to GB hospital. She died on the way. Smt. Shil is survived by her son and three daughters.

At a time when the govt. is unable to mend the ways of unruly auto drivers and their atrocities, it is indeed a matter of gratification to find an auto driver acting promptly and responsibly to take an injured passenger to the hospital. Though he could not save the life of the passenger, his effort remains praise worthy.
