The C Times, 16th June 2017, Agartala: BJP State President Sri BiplobKumar Deb on Friday at a press conference in state head quarter slammed the Left party for its alleged remarks on Indigenous Peoples Front of Tripura (IPFT) party recently.
Sri Deb termed the CPIM party as anti-national and destructive in nature. The party has a habit of creating controversies from every statement.
Recently in a reply to IPFT president NC Debbarma’s press conference demanding separate Twipra Land and declaring “ rail roko and raastaroko” movement from 10thjuly 2017 for indefinite period , Goutam Das CPIM party spokesperson accused the IPFT party of having connection with National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) organization.
The National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) is a Tripuri nationalist organisation based in Tripura, India. It has an estimated 550 to 850 members. The NLFT seeks to secede from India and establish an independent Tripuri state, and is an active participant in the Insurgency in Northeast India. The NLFT manifesto says that they want to expand what they describe as the Kingdom of God and Jesus Christ in Tripura. The NLFT is currently designated as a terrorist organisation in India.
Sri Deb said that IPFT is a political party and it is their constitutional right to approach the central govt.to fulfil their demands. He also said that we have to first understand what circumstances have led the IPFT party to raise such demands. The CPIM govt. has been in power for the last 30 years and it is due to their incapability, arrogant attitude, injustice and non-cooperation for the upliftment of the Tribes of Tripura, that a large section of the Scheduled Tribes have decided to separate themselves and form a new land “The Twipra Land”.
Mr. Deb said the Left party has been an ardent follower of the “Divide and Rule” policy, they encouraged and supported partition of India post-independence, they are also in full support of partition of Kashmir. The students of SFI are found shouting antinational slogans, “Bharat Tere Saw TukreHonge”.
Whereas the official ideology of the BJP is “integral humanism”. The party expresses a commitment to Hindutva, and its policy has historically reflected Hindu nationalist positions. The BJP advocates social conservatism and a foreign policy centred on nationalist principles. Its key issues have included the abrogation of the special status to Jammu and Kashmir, the building of a Ram temple in Ayodhya and the implementation of a uniform civil code. BJP believes in “SabkaSaathSabkaBikash”.
He also assured that if BJP comes to power in 2018 than it will work for the development and betterment of ST’s of Tripura and they will have no need to voice for a separate Twipra Land.
Mr. Deb warned the Left govt. not to relate BJP and IPFT party on this issue and advised the state govt. to prepare themselves for the “Rail and RastaRoko”movement. The Left govt. is in a state of fear and so they are reminding us again of the revival of 1988 elections.
He also advised the state govt. to stop its injustice towards the common people and take necessary steps for the safety of women in Tripura, as cases of woman molestation and assault are increasing at an alarming rate. The police are not doing their job properly and the Home ministry is absolutely useless.
He also pointed his fingers towards the state govt. for its indirect involvement in the recent attack on BJP leaders and supporters at Teliamura. He also criticised the state govt. for cheating the state govt. employees and pensioners for not implementing 7th CRPC and just providing them with a mere hike.
