Assam Finance & Education minister and NEDA convenor Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma held a press meet at BJP State Headquarter Krishnanagar, Agartala on Friday.
Dr Biswa Sarma said “The BJP will try to form a rainbow alliance to consolidate anti-Left Front votes to oust the ruling coalition in Tripura in assembly polls in February next year, The Bharatiya Janata Party is yet to decide on its electoral alliances. We are now working to consolidate anti-Left votes and to strengthen our party’s organisational base”.
Assam Minister also said that “CM of the state Manik Sarkar did not bother to visit the family of a rape and murder victim who hails from his constituency Dhanpur. Neither the family received any financial aid nor any solace from the govt. This shows how big hearted the CM of Tripura is”.
Dr Sarma added, the political scenario of Bihar was once termed as “Jungle Raj” by the media fraternity. Had the national media been interested in the state of Tripura and covered all the atrocities of the Left rule then Tripura govt. would have been termed much more than “The Master of Jungle Raaj”. The state of Tripura has always been deprived by the National Media so people of other states are not aware of the corruptions, crimes and atrocities that are happening under the left rule.
According to the NEDA convenor, no development has taken place in Tripura during the 24-year rule of the Left Front. Unemployment is very high, the crime against women is rising and the poor and backwards people are constantly deprived.
The Centre has recently granted 1500 crores for converting Agartala Medical College (AGMC) into a super speciality hospital and Smt. Anupriya Patel ( Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India) was supposed to visit the state on 27th May 2017 for the building foundation stone ceremony but the visit was forced to cancel by our state Health Minister Badal Choudhury as he has sent a letter to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare stating that building inauguration ceremonies are not organised in our state and he will not be on station on 27th May.
Whereas CM Manik Sarkar is a regular inaugurator of shopping malls, polo towers, bridges etc. Now when the centre is gladly granting 1500 crores for the development of AGMC the state govt. is not showing any interest in this project just because this will lift the image of BJP, said NEDA convenor.
Dr Sarma also raised his fingers towards a recent incident where one teacher of Narsingarh Blind School allegedly killed a student named Rakesh Shukla Das and hung him from a ceiling fan to make the murder look like a suicide. How can a blind boy commit suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan????
Before concluding Dr Himanta Sarma shared a good news for the people of Tripura. He said,” The city of Agartala is soon going to become the headquarter of Agartala, Dharmanagar and Mizoram division of Northeast Postal Circle.
The newly created Aizawl region whose area of jurisdiction are Agartala, Dharmanagar and Mizoram will be shifted to Agartala soon. Stae BJP Pradesh President Biplab Kumar Deb on 20/07/2016 wrote a letter to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on behalf of the people of the state requesting for change of newly created region under North East Postal Circle from Aizawl to Agartala. Upon finding his demands in the letter legitimate and reasonable the Ministry has accepted his request.”
After the presidential elections, BJP will accelerate its effort to begin the process of #Parivartan in the state in a much wider sense. He has urged the youths of the state to come under one umbrella and work collectively to oust the 24-year Left rule in the state.
Dr Sarma said to a reporter in press conference “Those Trinamool Congress and Congress MLAs keen to join the BJP should first cast votes in favour of NDA Presidential candidate Ram Nath Kovind on July 17. Except for the CPI-M, we urge legislators of all other parties to vote for Kovind.”
In this conference, BJP Pradesh president Biplab Kumar Deb, General Secretary Pratima Bhowmik and others were present.
