Beyond Shadow of vehicular movement on national highway resumed the IPFT disengage the blockade on the 11th day

Beyond a shadow of vehicular movement on national highway resumed the IPFT disengage the blockade on the 11th day. The end of the impasse came following Governor Tathagata Roy’s enthusiasm on Tuesday.

Nevertheless, before the disengage, the state administration had made it clear that if by 9 am the blockade was not recluse then massive force would be applied. While the antagonistic order was announced the huge deployment of security forces was also made.

On top of that under the state government’s instruction DoT also pendulous internet services walk over all electronic communications via SMS, WhatsApp, Facebook etc. so that none could spread rumour or create tension in case of confrontation or after the picketers started the evacuation.

In the yesterday morning, West Tripura District Magistrate and top brass of the police reached Khamtingbari area and called IPFT leader Ananta Debbarma and asked him to clear the NH and rail tracks of his picketers.

Soon after the government’s stand was made clear, IPFT president N.C. Debbarma stood on the Barmura Bridge and declared withdrawal of the agitation that disrupted the vehicular movement causing the severe problem to the commoners for the last Ten days.

Most of the agitators were spotted engaged in celebrations following the speech of IPFT president. In his speech, N. C said, “We hope the Central government over a formation of separate Tipraland. It’s a victory for us. We hope the Central government will soon convene a tripartite meeting to push our demand. We will stage similar kind of agitation if our demand is not fulfilled”.

CPI-M state secretary Bijan Dhar said, “The entire background of the blockade was now crystal clear and people of the state understand very well that BJP is behind the scene with all logistic and financial support”.

He also said, “BJP tried to create tribal and non-tribal polarisation before the assembly elections by instigating IPFT supporters and tried to destroy the peace and tranquillity of the state, but peace loving people of the state have foiled their conspiracy”.

BJP state president Biplob Kumar Deb said: “Last night the CPIM cadres had started attacking BJP party offices and workers and supporters in different parts of the state, is aimed at creating tension among the people after CPIM sponsored IPFT blockade fell flat after Governor Tathagata Roy’s intervention”.
