The Unions and Associations of BSNL in Tripura have consumed for a one-day strike on today demanding pay revision with effect from 1st January 2017 along with the whole nation.
The BSNL employees bodies today said in a massive protest at Agartala that, nothwhitstanding having functional profit in the last two consecutive financial years, the 3rd Pay Revision Committee had recommended not allow pay revision of employees of the Central PSU.
As a part of the protest, the BSNL employees have called strike across BSNL offices. The demands that the Unions and Associations of BSNL raised 5 points of demands.
Apprehending the central government for inadequacy of BSNL in emulating and conquering alongside private telecom service providers in India, Tirthankar Choudhury, on behalf of the Unions and Associations of BSNL, said that they demanded salaries should be readjusted from 1st January 2017, pensions should be readjusted from 1st January 2017, based on the basic salary, pensions would be implemented, the employees who are directly benefited, 30 percent superannuation benefit should be implemented for them and Trade Union’s banning order should be abolished soon.
