The proposed meeting was held on Saturday morning of the five former TMC MLAs with BJP all India president Amit Shah’s residence in New Delhi.
After a series of discussions between the former Trinamool Congress MLAs and BJP all India president Amit Shah, it was decided that the MLAs will join BJP on August 7.
During the discussion former Trinamool Yuba Congress president Susanta Choudhary, former Minister Dipak Majumder, BJP state president Biplab Kr Deb, Observer Sunil Deodhar and Assam’s Finance Minister Dr Hamanta Biswa Sharma was remaining present.
The former Trinamool Congress MLAs will organise a rally in the capital city on August 7. Their followers from different parts of the state will assemble in Swami Vivekananda stadium and from there, they will come in a procession in front of the Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhawan. In the MLAs will announce they’re joining in BJP, said Susanta Choudhary.
In the meeting Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, BJP general secretary Ram Madhav and Assam’s Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma will remain present.
On Friday evening state BJP president said, “The joining is not a complex issue. If people blindly support a single political party for rest of the life then development can never come. All the former Congress, TMC and other parties who earlier join in BJP, know what kind of party is BJP.”
BJP state president Biplab Kr Deb said over the telephone, “This is just the beginning and there is no opposition except BJP in Tripura. The MLAs also will be hiked, many CPIM MLAs are in talks with us”.
However, Dr Hemanta Biswa Sarma’s presence in the meeting with BJP all India president Amit Shah is much relevant as he was the first leader who asked the MLAs via media to prove that they actually love BJP by voting for NDA Presidential Candidate Ram Nath Kovind.
