The All India UCO Bank Officers’ Federation has today called for a day-long nation-wide strike. Banking operation across Tripura was hit on Wednesday as UCO branch struck work protesting against to express its resentment on the unrest prevailing in the bank.
As the festive season has just begun, traders and common people from the State faced a tough time today due to a day-long strike by the UCO bank.
A number of ATMs also remained closed, creating problems for the customers.
WHY THE STRIKE AND WHAT ARE THE DEMANDS?
The Unions call for the nation-wide strike came in the backdrop of a news that the Bank’s negative attitude towards right and interest of officers, Rampant violating of Bank policy guideline leading to non-repatriation on a large number of eligible officers and motivated cross the country transfer of officers in ATE-2017.
Apart from this, the unions have several demands such as immediate identification of vacancies in terms of Transfer Policy of officers to ensure repatriation of eligible officers including Segment Specialist Officers.
The union also called for the posting of armed guards at Branches to ensure safety and security of Bank Premises/Properties/Staff members. The union also demands that respect and honour of bilateralism and bilaterally agreed with policy guidelines. Restoration of healthy and robust MR and GR mechanism.
