This Ranji Trophy season will be crucial, I’m standing on thin ice, says Irfan Pathan

Irfan Pathan left arm seamer is about to grief on his loss with the Andhra in Ranji Trophy. Irfan Pathan as the captain of the Baroda Ranji team has a loss to the Andhra and comments that he was not mentally prepared for this Ranji Trophy.

The first Ranji match played by Baroda is against the Madhya Pradesh which was under the captaincy of Irfan Pathan. While the match didn’t favour the team as well as his performance; the Baroda team lost badly with 8 wickets down. The venue was held in Indore, and also the second match was held at Vadodara against Andhra. The match has somewhat resulted as the draw but this was another blow to Irfan Pathan. It has been 5 years back when he last played the ODI and Nine years since he played the Test match for team India.

Irfan has faced quite a bad luck since then, which is hunting him throughout the Ranji trophy. But in the last questioned, he claimed that he still have supportive fans which always encourage him- ESPNCricinfo.

But after the disappointing performance in the Ranji trophy with consecutive lost and drawn. Team Baroda still has to face the upcoming match against Tripura, Mumbai and Tamil Nadu. He claimed that the team did well, but it is his effort with is lacking. And he said to the media that he is not mentally prepared for this Ranji Trophy season.

He also added that his accident took worse while in the match. He had an accident and suffered from such strained made his performance low. And thus with many deflects, he claimed that He was not at all mentally prepared for playing the Ranji Trophy this season.
